The starting point of a series of stories involving the silver dragonborn of the Argentum Bastion. Lieutenant Arleith disobeys the laws of the clan and direct orders, traveling off into the realm of the faeries. With clan pariah, Pip, at his side, can he find what he's looking for and will they make it back alive?
"It doesn’t matter how good you are, what matters is how much fun you have."
“All my promises are fairy promises.”
Arleith, a proud dragonborn lieutenant of the Sivak Clan, was sick of being told to sit still. His Captain, the one he loved but had not told, had gone missing and they were on the brink of war. Driven by passion and anger, he disobeyed his orders for the first time in his career. It was time to do something for himself. He decided to get a gift for his captain to tell her his true feelings, and the only place to get a gift worthy of her was in the Fey Realm. But he would need the help of one who had been there before. Pop, cousin of his beloved, was a social pariah, but her mischievous, fey-like demeanor and knowledge of the fairy folk were exactly what he needed. And so in a time of uncertainty, Arleith and Pop set out to get into the dangerous realm of the Fey…
“It was impossible to tell what time of day it was when they woke up, or how long they’d actually been asleep. They both felt rested and full of energy though, and were ready to continue onward. The two dishes were polished clean, which gained a smile from Arleith. As he put them away, he noticed a bracelet of flowers had been woven around his wrist. He chuckled to himself at the notion that he must have made a good impression, but it was still unnerving to think there was a creature out there who could do such a thing without him noticing. Pop was similarly garnished, though to a much greater extent with an entire weave of flowers and vines wrapped around her tail.
“I guess you won our little competition last night,” Arleith nodded to draw her attention to her decoration.
“Of course I did. I had more fun than you,” she said smugly.”
